The museum reflects the Wakefield Historical Society’s efforts when it saw growth from the industries that made their way into town in 1890. People who visit the museum can see a collection of a plethora of artifacts such as paintings and portraits, documents, clothing, furnishings, and anything that played an essential part in local history.

The museum has two stories to it, with the upstairs containing most of the artifacts. They use the bottom floor for changing exhibits to give people a more in-depth understanding of certain events or facts about the town’s rise.

Lake Quannapowitt

For an outdoor adventure, visit Lake Quannapowitt for a bike stroll, walk in the park, or picnic for your next date or family outing. If you’re a runner or a physical-activity fanatic, this park is the perfect place for your next job or marathon train. It spans a little over 3 miles and takes about an hour to run all the way around. This lake has several events that are hosted at the facility, like 5ks and festivals. The park has beautiful scenery of the water next to the walking trail and trees that turn a lovely shade of orange and red in the fall. People who live in Reading love going to Lake Quannapowitt and feeling the warmth of the community.

BeanStalk Adventure Rope Course

In case the weather keeps you from being active outdoors, visit the BeanStalk Adventure Rope Course for some ziplining and indoor physical fun. There are two different rope courses for all ages to be able to enjoy. You can buy your tickets online or once you get there, and most of the rope courses take an hour to complete. The adult rope course has 30 activities and the option to choose between two levels: challenging and simple. People who have children participating in the rope course need to have a chaperone registered for the child, but there is no charge.
