When you need groceries, there is a Walmart and other convenient stores nearby, along with typical home furnishing stores for anything you may need in your home. Reading has big chains and local stores so you will never have to travel far for your necessities.

If you need your morning fuel, Reading has several great coffee shops with delicious pastries. Then, of course, there are the traditional Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts scattered throughout if you’re on the go and need a chain stop, but local shops like Perfecto’s Cafe, Caffe Nero, and Java Grind and Grill are local stores to stop in for a coffee and a place to work with the wifi.

For eating, Reading offers a diverse palette to satisfy any kind of craving you could have. There’s seafood, American, Irish, Italian, Chinese, and Thai places around. These restaurants are not your typical take-outs either. If you like fine dining and exquisite restaurants, then you will love the food in Reading.

But if you want something more well-known, chain options like Longhorn’s Steakhouse, McDonald’s, and Chili’s are all options to take.

Activities & Attractions

Reading, MA offers activities for anyone who likes to do things indoors or outdoors. Lake Quannapowitt is an excellent place for a picnic or a bike ride down the path by the water. At the same time, a few family-fun places like BeanStalk Rope Adventures or Xtreme Craze offer laser tag and arcade games.

Since you’re in the state of Massachusetts, be sure to stop by some historical landmarks to learn more about the historical events that helped make America free. If you want to go in-depth with America’s history, venture into the city for Freedom Trail. Freedom Trail includes 16 important landmarks like the Bunker Hill Monument, The Paul Revere House, and Boston Tea Party museum.

Harold Parker State Forest is a place to travel past North Reading for outdoor fishing and hiking. The scenery is beautiful, and it also offers a campground and showers for people who want to get familiar with the outdoors in the remote area.
